New Study Helps Deepen Understanding of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Carbon Cycling Mechanisms
A new study by Chinese scientists has revealed how cryospheric degradation affects carbon and nitrogen cycles on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, providing key data for biogeochemical models of high-altitude cryospheric regions. The study, spearheaded by the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, traces the characteristics and transport mechanisms of dissolved organic matter in the source area of the Yellow River, China's second-longest waterway, on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
