The Chinese government, through the ministry of science and technology, on Wednesday donated four modular container clinics to the Kenyan ministry of health to boost response to killer diseases in underserved Kenyan regions. Developed by an institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the state-of-the-art mobile clinics will deliver advanced health care services to disadvantaged communities in Kenya.
Three unmanned deep sea devices descended over 10,000 meters underwater and completed sea tests in the Pacific, said Chinese scientists leading the research. The group left on Zhang Jian, a research vessel and mothership of the Rainbow Fish series, and included three deep-sea landing devices, one unmanned search submersible and a manned submersible, all capable of diving 10,000 meters.

China plans to form a BeiDou network consisting of 35 satellites for global navigation services by 2020, said a white paper released by the State Council Information Office on Tuesday. The country plans to start providing basic services to countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-century Maritime Silk Road in 2018, said the document titled "China's Space Activities in 2016."
A technical scheme of High-Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (HTGR) for commercial use has been released on Wednesday at Tsinghua University, allowing China to have world's first commercial nuclear power station with HTGR. The HTGR can conceptually have an electric power of 600,000 kilowatts.
China will build 10 innovation demonstration zones during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20), according to a newly published development plan. The State Council Information Office held a news conference on Wednesday, which gave a brief introduction to the Development Plan for China's Innovation Demonstration Zones in response to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
