Three research projects, led by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Members ZHANG Tao, WANG Enge and JIANG Fengyi, won first prizes in the 2025 State Natural Science Award, one of China's five major national science and technology awards, for researches that challenged established understanding and suggested new directions.

The American Chemical Society (ACS) recognizes Chad A. Mirkin of Northwestern University with the 2027 Priestley Medal, the Society’s highest honor. Mirkin is a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the George B. Rathmann Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Medicine, Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Chemical and Biological Engineering.

Yuan Junying (Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) of the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Wang Xiaodong (Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Shao Feng (Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) of the National Institute of Biological Sciences, and Vishva Dixit at Genentech Inc. won the 2026 WLF Prize in Life Science or Medicine.
