Drexel-SARI Joint Center Founded

Drexel University and Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SARI, CAS) officially launched the Drexel-SARI Center at SARI on June 6, 2012.

The center was established to promote joint research projects of commercial prospects, training of under-graduate and post-graduate students and other activities.

The unveiling ceremony for the center was presided over by Prof. JIANG Mianheng, president of CAS Shanghai Branch and Prof. John A. Fry, president of Drexel University.

Prof. JIANG said in the ceremony that the center could inspire innovative young scientists to make more contributions and create a more prosperous world of bright future under the motto of “cooperation, innovation, dedication, contribution and inspiration”.

President John A. Fry hoped the center would promote scientific communication and cooperation between SARI and Drexel University to better serve the society.

Drexel University, founded in 1891 by Anthony J. Drexel, offers over 70 full-time undergraduate programs and accelerated degrees. It is best known for the cooperative education program (Co-op).
