The Boeing Company delegation led by Boeing-China Research & Technology vice President Al Bryant visited the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT) on October 28-29, 2009. Al Bryant and Deputy Director ZHAO Xiaochao had a further discussion in the field of bio jet fuel with associated researchers.
Under the MOU framework signed on 21st this month between Boeing and Chinese Academy of Sciences, Boeing’s visit was to join hands with the QIBEBT on the research and development of renewable aviation biofuel.
Both parties agreed to initiate some cooperation projects in microalgae biofuel area, and strengthen a more programmatic and strategic cooperation in additional areas of joint interests.
Working together under the framework of MOU will be significantly important and beneficial for both parties to shorten the R&D lifecycle of bio jet fuel and reduce production cost of mutual concern.
