Chinese researchers have achieved a groundbreaking milestone in optical data storage (ODS), reaching a storage capacity of 1.6 petabits on a DVD-sized disk. In data storage units, 1,024 gigabytes equal 1 terabyte, and 1,024 terabytes form 1 petabit. (CGTN)
