Discovery of a new comet

    Dr. ZHAO Haibin, who leads a near earth object research team at the CAS Purple Mountain Observatory, has made discovered a new comet on 17 September with the 1.04-m f/1.8 Schmidt telescope at Xuyi observation Station in east China's Jianshu Province. Upon the confirmation of the Minor Planet Center of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), the new finding has been named P/2007S1(ZHAO).
