IMP Signs MoU with Jülich Delegation

The delegation of Research Centre Jülich(Jülich Delegation) from Germany, headed by Prof. Sebastian M. Schmidt, the deputy director of the centre, visited Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), CAS on Dec. 13-16.

During their visit, the Jülich Delegation signed MoU with IMP on scientific cooperation. Prof. ZHAO Hongwei, the vice director of IMP, introduced the research activities at IMP and exchanged ideas about the research projects of mutual interests with the Delegation. Both sides agreed to strengthen the cooperation in the fields of nuclear physics experiments and theories, experiment facilities, and accelerator physics and technologies.  The delegation also visited the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou(HIRFL).

Being one of the important scientific research institutions in Germany, the Research Centre Jülich has been in close cooperation with IMP. The center presented to IMP as a gift a set of detectors and facilities for hadron physics experiment in 2007.

The visit of the Jülich Delegation will enhance the cooperation between the two institutions.
