On Sept 12, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao made an inspection tour to the CAS Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH). He listened to a report by GIBH Director Chen Ling on the development of the institute, visited research labs and met with researchers.
With the joint investment of CAS, Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City, GIBH was established in 2003 with an objective to become a competitive and innovative R&D body in the fields of biomedicine and health as to serve the national strategic demand.
