CAS experts on hydrobiological ecology and conservation were invited to take part in the "Release of Rare Wild Aquatic Animals into Yangtze River 2005" held by the Yangtze River in Hubei's Yichang on Apr.28, 2005. Experts from the CAS Institute of Hydrobiology has made great efforts on the studies for sturgeon protection.
With the theme "Show Our Care to Aquatic Creatures and Protect the State Treasure--Chinese Sturgeon", more than 10,000 Chinese sturgeon fry, 200 junior sturgeon and two adult fish were released into the Yangtze River during the release.
