The CAS Institute of Physics (IOP) is to host the third international conference on bulk metallic glass (BMG III) in Beijing in October.
Bulk metallic glasses (bulk amorphous alloys) constitute a new and exciting class of metallic materials with interesting properties for structural and functional use. For the past decade, substantial advances have been achieved in understanding the glass forming ability and synthesizing new bulk amorphous alloys containing multi-components. The objective of this conference is to provide an international forum to discuss recent progress in both fundamentals and applications of bulk metallic glasses.
Cosponsors of the meeting will include National Natural Science Foundation of China, CAS, U. S. Oak Ridge National Laboratory, U. S. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
