Over three years have passed since the Comprehensive Research Facility for Fusion Technology (CRAFT) started on December 14, 2018 its site infrastructure construction, and is now completed. The site infrastructure, actually a complex with labs, factories and user instruments, covers an area of around 400 thousand square meters. It is to provide a space for scientific daily work, administration and supportive operation.
China is building a research facility to incubate core technologies used in power generation of fusion energy that powers the sun. The facility in the pipeline, called "Comprehensive Research Facility for Fusion Technology" (CRAFT), is a platform on which engineers develop and test fusion energy reactor's key components. It is expected to be finished in 2025.
