An international team led by Chinese researchers has unveiled a new image showing the supermassive black hole M87. The first image of M87, released by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) collaboration in April 2019, impressed people deeply with its donut-like shape. The new image shows not only the black hole, but also its accretion disk and the jet flow to show the relation between the black hole and its surrounding environment. The new image of M87 was obtained using 16 telescopes at various locations across the world. (CGTN)
