A Yangtze finless porpoise called Fujiu gave birth to a baby porpoise numbered "F9C22" at around 21:35 on June 27.
The Yangtze finless porpoise is a critically endangered species and is under first-class state protection in China, as it is the only known freshwater finless porpoise in the world.
In addition to the newly born F9C22, there are six other Yangtze finless porpoises in captivity, three of which were bred through artificial breeding. (CGTN)
