Prof. ZHOU Xiangyu Elected TWAS Fellow

Fifty-five new TWAS Fellows were elected into the membership on January 26th 2018, bringing total TWAS membership to 1,228. Prof. ZHOU Xiangyu, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and a faculty of CAS Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, was elected TWAS Fellow.

ZHOU Xiangyu is a professor from Institute of Mathematics, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The nominee has solved the extended future tube conjecture posed by Bogolyubov and Wightman in 1950’s.

Moreover, he has jointly found an optimal L2 extension theorem and solved several open problems, proved Demailly strong openness conjecture, which causes solutions of several open problems, and solved Demailly-Kollar conjecture and Johnson-Mustata conjecture.

As member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, he has received the Tan Kah Kee Science Award, the National Natural Science Award and the S.S. Chern mathematical prize, Russian's Dr. of Science in 1997, among others.
