The Second Session of the Third Committee for Enforcement of Scientific Morality (CESM) was held on July 18 in Beijing.
The meeting was co-chaired by Prof. Xu Zhihong, CESM director and President of Peking University, and Prof. Zhang Cunhao, vice director of the Committee. CAS Vice President Li Jinghai attended the conference.
The meeting's compact agenda includes discussions on the revision of three documents, namely, the "Working Methods for CESM," "the Procedure for Dealing with Complaints Against CAS Members for Scientific Misconduct" and "Suggestions Concerning Authorship of Research Papers and Concurrent Posts of CAS Members".
The CESM is set up under the CAS Presidium to take charge of scientific morality and work style in the Academic Divisions. The committee is composed of two members from the Presidium and one member from each of the Academic Divisions, with the two members from the Presidium being its Director and Deputy Director.
