Low-temperature High Magnetic Field MÖssbauer Spectrometer. (T=1.5-300K B=0-9T)
CAS Institute of Physics announced January 6 the successful installation of a Low-temperature High Magnetic Field MÖssbauer Spectrometer. The instrument, developed by a research team headed by Dr. Zhao-hua Cheng at the State Key Laboratory of Magnetism, is the first of its kind in China and there are only a limited number of them in the world.
The appliance can be used for the studies of the hyperfine interaction between the nucleus and surrounding electrons of magnetic particles in solid materials, such as magnetic materials and high-temperature superconductors. It can facilitate further probes into the microscopic magnetic properties of surrounding atoms, the electronic structures, valence states of ions, lattice dynamics, and lattice relaxation, etc.
The instrument provides an excellent means for the in-depth research into spintronics and nanomagnetism.
