Faculty Positions at IHEP on Hadron Physics

Oct 08, 2018

The Experimental Physics Division (EPD) at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) invites applications for three faculty positions in experimental particle physics to join the hadron physics group and participate in the experimental research programs. In the hadron physics group, 24 physicists work together in an open and international scientific environment together with around 70 visitors, postdocs, and graduate students.

The hadron physics group in EPD has a strong record and plays a leading role in the study of hadron spectroscopy, quarkonium physics, exotic hadrons, heavy flavor physics, as well new physics probes at low energy. The research projects include the local BESIII experiment, the LHCb at CERN, the Belle and Belle II experiments at KEK, and the GlueX at JLab.

The positions are open to candidate of all nationalities. Candidates are expected to have postdoctoral experience showing an exceptional record of research accomplishment and potential for leadership in experimental particle physics. The applicant should have proven track record of creative and original contributions, and have a broad overview of the field to supervise postdocs and/or students. Especially, we seek candidates with a strong background to work on data analysis and to develop advanced analysis/software tools in the BESIII experiment. The candidates will be expected to interact with physicists and other technical people, be able to work effectively as part of a team in EPD.

Remuneration and Benefits:

  1. Appointed as an associate professor or professor depending on experience;
  2. Medical care;
  3. Support for research team recruitment;
  4. Assistance for family relocation, including children’s education (including kindergarten) and spouse’s work relocation.

Interested candidates should submit applications including CV, research statement, list of publications, at least three recommendations, and any other relevant professional background information to:  Professor Yuan Changzheng (yuancz@ihep.ac.cn) and a copy to Ms. Xing Tianhong (xingth@ihep.ac.cn). All materials including letters of reference must be received by June 30, 2019.
