The International Forum on Lab-on-a-Chip(LOC), organized by DICP, was convoked in Guilin of the Guangxi Autonomy Region on 21st November. The Forum was a pre-conference of the 8th National Conference on Micro-Nano Separation-Analysis for Biochemistry(CMSB 2008). 12 experts from surrounding countries and regions of China were invited to deliver lectures on the application of LOC in life sciences. About 60 scientists and many graduate students specializing in this field participated in the Forum. They discussed in round-table sessions on the technical difficulties and development trends of LOC, as well as their own studies and experiences involving the application of LOC in nano-materials, sensors, micro-electro-mechanics, cell biology and environmental biology.
The Forum was chaired by Prof. QIN Jinhua. Prof. LIN Bingcheng gave an address in the opening ceremony of the Forum.
