Russian mathematician receives CAS foreign member certificate

On behalf of CAS President LU Yongxiang, Prof. WANG Enge, secretary-general of the Presidium of the CAS Academic Divisions, conferred a certificate of CAS foreign membership on Prof. Ludwig D. Faddeev on 13 September in Tianjin.


    On behalf of CAS President LU Yongxiang, Prof. WANG Enge, secretary-general of the Presidium of the CAS Academic Divisions, conferred a certificate of CAS foreign membership on Prof. Ludwig D. Faddeev on 13 September in Tianjin.

    Prof. Faddeev, director of Euler International Mathematical Institute, Petersburg Department of Steklov Institute of Mathematics, was elected a foreign member of CAS in November 2007. He is an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Recently he was honored with the Shaw Prize in Mathematical Sciences in 2008.
