CAS Einstein Professorship laureate to give a public talk on nanoscience
Supported by the prestigious "Einstein Professor" Program of CAS, Prof. Lars Samuelson, director of the Nanometer Structure Consortium, the primary center for Nanoscience in Sweden, is going to give a public lecture on nanoscience -- from basic materials science to quantum physics and novel devices in Beijing
Prof. Lars Samuelson has contributed tremendously to low-dimensional semiconductor structures and the physics and applications made possible by these structures. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics in the United Kingdom, a Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, and of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
Launched in 2004, the "Einstein Professor" Program of CAS plans to invite annually about 10 top science and technology experts to make an academic visit of 1 to 2 weeks in CAS. Prof. Lars Samuelson is among 12 winners of the program in 2008.
This lecture is organized by the CAS Institute of Physics and will be hosted by Prof. BAI Chunli, executive vice president of CAS.
Time: 3:30 PM, April 22, 2008 (Tuesday)
Venue: Room S201, Zhongguancun Campus, Graduate University of CAS
