Int'l stem cell symposium convenes in Shanghai
The 2007 International Symposium on Stem Cell Research opened on 6 November in Shanghai, drawing nearly 500 scholars from more than 20 countries and regions.
The four-day meeting is co-organized by the CAS Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences and several other research institutions in China, together with the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR). As the first ISSCR meeting held in a developing country, it will address such issues as adult stem cells; embryonic stem cells; stem cell niche and regulation; re-reprogramming, epigenetics and cloning; directed stem cell differentiation; stem cells and diseases; global issues of stem cell research; and ethics, international collaborations and publications.
