A new landscape greenhouse of the CAS Wuhan Botanical Garden has been completed recently and opens to the public on trial operation
Covering an area of 3,000 square meters, the building is the first kind of its kind in the country that could adjust the environment for the plants inside the greenhouse with its structure and function. It is composed of three major areas for tropical rainforests, desert plants and tropical orchids. On display at present are more than 1,500 species of tropical plants, 500 or so desert plants and about 800 orchids in 98 genera. It is not only an important platform for plant resource protection and scientific research, but also a major base for science popularization.
