CAS member Wang Shouguan and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Science and Technology Zhang Jing'an jointly push the button on August 26 in Beijing to launch a CAS website for scientific education (http://www.fipse.cn/).
The website is set up by a union named the Federation for Internet-based Public Science Education or FIPSE, which has attracted 80 CAS institutes from various scientific fields.
High-ranking officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Propaganda Ministry of CPC, China Association for Science and Technology and CAS attended the opening. CAS Vice Secretary-General Cao Xiaoye deliver a speech. He said that CAS is committed to the task of raising public scientific literacy and FIPSE will play an important role in this regard.
CAS integrated its achievements of recent years in the field of online education to set up the new website, and promised to use it as an interactive platform. The website is designed to enable web users and union members to communicate with each other.
