CAS joint laboratory for microsatellites opens
The nameplates for the Shanghai Engineering Center for Microsatellites and the CAS Joint Key Laboratory of Microsatellites were unveiled on December 14 at the CAS Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology.
Mr. Chen Liangyu, politburo member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Prof. Lu Yongxiang, CAS president and vice chairman of the standing committee of the NPC, officiated at the ceremony.
The establishment of the center, which will be a joint venture of CAS and Shanghai government, marks a new phase of development for China's microsatellites.
