
At a recent general assembly of the Asia Pacific Assembly of Materials (GAPA) held at Novosibirsk, Russia, Prof. Bai Chunli was elected GAPA Vice President.
Established in 1992, GAPA is a non-governmental institution, aiming at promoting free exchanges of research and development in the field of materials research through international cooperation.
Bai, CAS Vice president, is a pioneer in China's scanning tunneling microscopy studies. His election at CAPA is considered as international recognition for both his personal scholarship and the rapid S&T development in this country.
