It was founded under the goal to lead the development of cutting-edge technology of China in response to the increasingly fierce global competition. In 1970, USTC was strategically relocated and has been operating in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province. Ever since then, this prestigious research university keeps open arms for extraordinary talents across the globe. Now the university is home to 60,000 young gifted students, aspiring scholars and researchers as well as 3,500 distinguished faculty members.

Exceptional Achievements in Research and Education

With 23 schools offering majors including natural science and social science, USTC is abundant in exciting opportunities for students to discover for more.

The university houses two advanced national labs, the National Synchrotron Radiation Facility which is the first national lab in China. USTC is also the only university in China that is capable of building the Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the Microscale. Remarkable progress has been made by USTC in fields such as, quantum manipulation, nanotechnology and high-temperature superconductivity.

International Prominence
