Main functions: In charge of the planning and management of state S&T tasks including technology and application tasks and major public and Demonstration; to formulate and manage key programs of CAS; to promote industrial and enterprise cooperation with local governments on science and technology; to boost S&T knowledge transfers and hi-tech industrialization; to advance construction of innovation cluster and creative coalition; to manage the engineering labs and centers, botanic gardens, herbaria and field stations; responsible for intellectual property management, counterpart liaison with the state departments concerned; and complete assigned tasks by the administrators of the CAS.
