CAS, Samsung renew cooperation agreement
CAS and Samsung Corporation inked an agreement for further cooperation in technology cooperation and exchanges on 28 November in Beijing. CAS Vice President LI Jiayang and CEO of the Samsung Electronics Chang-Gyu Hwang were present to witness the signing ceremony.
According to the protocol, the two sides will carry out a series of cooperation within the next five years in various forms, ranging from cooperative research to technological exchanges.
Recent years have witnessed closer ties between CAS and Samsumg. The two sides have jointly set up research labs and sponsored symposia to carry out technological cooperation since 2003 when a memorandum of understanding for cooperation and exchange between the two organizations was signed. More frequent visits and exchanges have also been made by S&T workers of the two sides. Furthermore, cooperative studies have been conducted on such issues as fuel cells, display technology, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.
