IPM contributes to Olympic & Paralympics games
Scientists with the CAS Institute of Policy and Management (IPM) made contributions to the grand success in holding the 29th Olympic & Paralympics games in Beijing.
In cooperation with Beijing Municipal Administration Commission, IPM established a research team for urban operation and development research. The team carried out various research projects in data mining, policy simulation, early warning and prediction in search and collection of the characteristic parameters concerning the municipality's energy and water resources, transport, communication, atmosphere, environment and social order, safety production, hygiene and epidemic prevention in the period of the events.
The efforts played a constructive role in rendering an S&T backing and support to the related decision-making procedures. The researchers timely submitted related information to the municipal leadership, not only providing scientific grounds for decision makers but also offer a solid foundation for building up a comprehensive system for measurement of the urban operation and all-round development in Beijing.
