Upon the approval of the CAS Leading Group for Information Technology Development, two projects for further developing the information system at CAS during the period of the 11th Five-year Plan (2006-2010) have been launched in Beijing. On 29 October, a video conference was held to make arrangements for the implementation of the projects.
One of the projects is to carry out the second stage enforcement of the ARP (the Academia Resource Planning), a major project to improve its management at the Academy through information technology. The first stage of the APR project was started in November 2003 and the system was put into operation in August 2006. The other project is to establish a website cluster across the Academy, which will serve as an online platform for information release.
