It will be an uphill task and require joint efforts of all CAS institutions, stresses CAS Vice Secretary-general Prof. TAN Tieniu at the conference.

Upon the approval of the CAS Leading Group for Information Technology Development, two projects for further developing the information system at CAS during the period of the 11th Five-year Plan (2006-2010) have been launched in Beijing. On 29 October, a video conference was held to make arrangements for the implementation of the projects.
