Along with other recipients of the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) Award in Basic Sciences in 2002, Prof. Wang Zhizhen (Chih-Chen Wang), a biochemist of the CAS Institute of Biophysics, was given the honor of delivering a lecture on Oct. 16 at the on-going gathering of the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).
Wang was awarded the prize in 2002 for her successful characterization of novel chaperone activity of protein disulfide isomerase and for demonstrating the cooperative function of isomerase and chaperone activities in the folding of disulfide-containing proteins.
