Dr Christiane Diehl is Executive Director of EASAC (the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council), the body through which the national science academies of EU member states jointly provide science-based policy advice to the institutions of the EU. She is also Deputy Head of Department of International Relations at the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, where the EASAC Secretariat is based.
She did her M.A. at the University of Mainz/Germany and her doctorate at Oxford University (Oriel College)/UK with a thesis on Ethics. She has worked in academia and the charity and public sectors, with an emphasis on science communication.
