DING Chibiao, Professor, Ph.D., is Vice President and Member of the Presidium of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
Prof. DING was born in 1969 in Jiangsu Province, China. He is mainly engaged in the research of synthetic aperture radar. He has won a number of important awards, such as the first-class prize of China’s State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, the second-class prize of China’s State Technological Invention Award and the Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2021, he was elected Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Before being appointed Vice President of CAS, Prof. DING served as the deputy director-general of the Institute of Electronics of CAS, deputy director-general of the Aerospace Information Research Institute of CAS, and director-general of the CAS Bureau of Major R&D Programs.
