Kathmandu Center for Research and Education, CAS (Nepal) focuses on the "Third Pole" (the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau), among other areas, looking at resources, the environment and global climate change, protection of biodiversity, and geological hazard monitoring and forecasting. The center works with countries and regions in South Asia, Central Asia, and West Asia. It conducts scientific research cooperation and jointly nurtures S&T talent, with the goal of promoting regional and global sustainable development.
