World’s First Coal-to-olefins Industrial Technology
Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics
Scientists at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics started to research the technology for making olefins from coal in the 1980s.
With the continuous effort over nearly 30 years by several generations of researchers, the institute, together with the collaborated engineering company, successfully developed methanol-to-olefin technology.
This opened up a new path for olefins production from non-oil resources and completed the world’s first industrialization of coal-to-olefins technology.
