Independent Development of Aerospace Infrared Detectors
Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics
Infrared is a critical strategic technology for the country. After persistent research and development, scientists at the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics have achieved breakthroughs in optoelectronic core devices, focusing on infrared detectors while also covering the ultraviolet, visible light, and terahertz range of the spectrum.
The material system is primarily based on mercury cadmium telluride, with concurrent development of Type-II superlattices, indium gallium arsenide, quantum wells, gallium nitride, etc.
Major breakthroughs have been made in large-scale, high-sensitivity, and high-quantitative infrared detection technologies that have been successfully applied in fields such as civil meteorological satellites, lunar and Mars exploration missions, manned space missions, high-resolution satellite projects, and scientific satellites.
