The center carries out systematic geoscientific research on geology, climate, hydrology, ecology, environment, and disaster mitigation along the “China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.” It focuses on disaster prevention, mitigation, and civil security, and provides scientific decision-making and engineering support for the construction of the corridor. It also provides S&T support for the construction of scientific research capacity and regional sustainable development in Pakistan.
