YIN Hejun

Vice President (full ministerial level), Deputy Secretary of the CPC Leading Group of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) 

Born in Shanxi Province in January of 1963, Dr. YIN got his M.Sc. degree in radio physics from Xidian University in 1989 and received his doctoral degree in electromagnetic theory and microwave technology from CAS Institute of Electronics (IECAS) in 1995. He was named director of CAS Bureau of High-tech Research and Development in July, 2006. And in January of 2008, YIN was appointed Vice President of CAS, and member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Leading Group of CAS. 

In November, 2015, Dr. YIN was appointed Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People's Republic of China, as well as its member of CPC Leading Group. 

He began to work as the member of Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee from March of 2017, and member of Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee, Vice Mayor, and member of CPC Leading Group of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and concurrently Secretary of the Party Committee of Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, later in April. 

Prof. YIN became Deputy Secretary of the CPC Leading Group of the People's Government of Tianjin Municipality in October, 2018. 

He was an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC and is member of 20th CPC Central Committee. 

YIN has been conducting research in such fields as electromagnetic theories and wave techniques, microwave devices and technology, and microwave-remote sensing technology.
