A panel of experts has recently given the nod to the proposal and feasibility study to set up a research station of dry-hot valley ecosystem in Yuanjiang of southwest China's Yunnan Province, which was presented by the CAS Xishuangbannan Tropical Botanical Garden.
Covering about one hectare, the Savanna Research Station will be located in Pu Piao, a place about 2 km to the south of the Yuanjiang County proper. Featuring typical dry-hot valley vegetation with rich biodiversity, it is considered as an ideal place for long-term ecological studies.
