CAS recently unveiled training base for graduate programs in Chengdu, capital of west China's Sichuan Province.
Aiming at assembling graduate education resources scattered at various organizations under the CAS Chengdu Branch, the Base will be a CAS training center for high-level professionals in southwest China, said CAS Vice President Bai Chunli at the opening ceremony held on Nov. 11 in Chengdu.
Bai, who is also president of CAS Graduate School, calls for speeding up the development of the Base by centralizing the rich educational resources, standardizing teaching practice and coupling graduate programs with scientific research in light of national and regional economic development and strategic need.
