Grain yield prediction gains acclaim from the government
The CAS Academy of Mathematics and System Sciences (AMSS) recently received letters from the central authorities, praising the research work conducted by an AMSS research team headed by Prof. Chen Xikang on the application of input-occupancy-output technology into prediction of prediction on the yields of grain, cotton and oil crops.
In their correspondences, the Research Office of the State Council, the State Development and Reform Commission, State Administration of Grain, Ministry of Agriculture, all speak highly of the work that has greatly facilitated the government with its decision-making in terms of grain production with over half a year in forward time of prediction and a relative low error rate.
