Research on PACS gets support from Shanghai government
A proposal for developing a picture archiving and communications system (PACS) by Prof. Zhang Jianguo of the CAS Institute of Technical Physics has recently got the green light from Municipal S&T Administration of Shanghai and been listed as a major S&T project of the city. The project aims at developing a system for storage and distribution of digital medical images over a networked environment with features of third and fourth generation of PACS, better balance of performance and price, and high reliability, stability and security. It will be suitable for operation in hospitals at various levels, and support different image analyses, processing and parameter measurement.
