The exportation of special medical goods related to human genetic resources will be subject to approval by administrations in China, according to a recent notice jointly issued by the Ministry of Health and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The term "human genetic resources" refers to the genetic materials such as human organs, tissues, cells, blood specimens, preparations of any types or recombinant DNA constructs, which contain human genome, genes or gene products as well as to the information related to such genetic materials, according to a news report by Xinhua.
In order to get those resources leave the country, official permission should be obtained from both administrations of health and science and technology at levels of province, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the State Council and the Human Genetic Resources Administration of China, which was co-established by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science and Technology.
