A conference was convened at CAS headquarters on 31 December, 2002 to pass on the spirit of the enlarged winter session of leading group of CPC at CAS held recently.
The Leading Group of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at CAS held its regular winter enlarged session recently. The meeting reviews the important progresses achieved in 2002, the second year of the all-round implementation stage of the Knowledge Innovation Program (KIP), and analyzes the development stance in coming years. It examines and passes, in principle, the Guideline for the Implementation of CAS Development Strategy in the new era, and deliberates such issues as the Academy's management system and management innovation, CPC construction at CAS, "running CAS according to law" and "promoting ethical standards to invigorate CAS." The conference also makes clarification on philosophy, tasks and priorities of CAS work in the years to come.
