Faculty Positions in Conservation Biology at XTBG

The Center for Integrative Conservation at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences (XTBG) invites applications for full-time faculty positions in Conservation Biology. The center is a new group led by Prof. Richard Corlett and is currently recruiting new staff at all levels. It aims to build up an international team of researchers and postgraduate students in collaboration with other institutions in China and internationally. Highly qualified candidates with experience in science and practice of biological conservation, and those interested in research of the following or related areas are encouraged to apply. The research areas involve habitat fragmentation, climate change impacts, ecosystem services, conservation biogeography, protected area management, ex situ conservation, invasive species management, ecological restoration, reintroduction, assisted migration, and conservation education. The research focus should be on plants or plant-animal interactions.

The candidates’ responsibilities, along with their independent research, will include the development of postgraduate training and research, the development of collaborations with universities and institutions in China and the region, obtaining external funding, and publication in leading international journals. The successful candidates will benefit from CAS's established research programs and field stations. XTBG has strong cooperative relationship with the local and provincial governments and surrounding countries in developing effective collaborations.

Candidates with a strong record of accomplishment should submit a CV, statement of research interests/plans, and pdfs of three publications.
