Laboratory Positions at Eukaryotic Transcriptome Group, CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology

Aug 26, 2011

The laboratory is to understand RNA regulatory networks in higher eukaryotic cells at the whole transcriptome level by taking advantage of state-of-the-art deep sequencing approaches and computational analyses. There are two major research areas: one is to decipher alternative splicing networks and the other is to discover new modes of gene regulation and new noncoding RNA species, which will have profound impacts on the understanding of RNA complexity and its functions in eukaryotes.

Positions for research assistants are available in the lab. Qualified candidates must be highly self-motivated in the research work with a M.S. or Ph.D. degree of computational biology/bioinformatics. Candidates who are willing to devote at least 3 years in the institute with experience in manipulating deep-sequencing data are highly encouraged to apply. Competitive candidate must have necessary knowledge or skills of Statistics, Software and Programming, and have published at least 1 first-author paper in influential scientific journal in the fields of Computational Biology, Genome or Transcriptome Biology, etc.

To apply for these positions, please send 1) a cover letter, 2) an up-to-date curriculum vitae with the contact information of three references, 3) PDF reprints of publications to bxu@picb.ac.cn.
