XTBG Invites Applications for 9 Postdoctoral Positions

Sep 17, 2009

Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was established in 1959 under the leadership of Prof. Cai Xitao, an eminent botanist in China. Research centers for Conservation Biology, Forest Ecosystem, Ethnobotany & Economic Plants have been established. Well-equipped laboratories and other facilities are available for scientific research. These include 24 research groups, a herbarium, a germplasm bank for tropical plants, an information center, a biogeochemistry laboratory, a GIS laboratory, Xishuangbanna tropical rainforest monitoring station, and Ailaoshan monitoring station for subtropical forest ecosystem studies.

XTBG workstation for postdoctoral research on biology was officially authorized by the Ministry of Personnel in October 2003. Two foreign postdoctoral research fellows have finished their two-year research programs in 2006. There are two postdoctors still working in this station. To meet the need of scientific research, XTBG is now inviting applicants for nine (9) postdoctoral positions. Capable candidates from both home and abroad are welcomed.
