SARI and Drexel Announce Research Collaboration to Establish Joint Center

Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences (SARI) and Drexel University signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Collaboration Agreement to jointly establish the Drexel-SARI Center on October 19 in Shanghai. Dr. JIANG Mianheng, Vice President of CAS and President of CAS Shanghai Branch and John A. Fry, President of Drexel University, jointly unveiled the plate of the center.

The Drexel-SARI Center is dedicated to joining Drexel University's research and educational excellence with SARI's pioneering work in technology innovation. The Center will provide a framework for collaboration on cutting-edge interdisciplinary research as well as a space for integrating research, education, training and entrepreneurship in line with the common missions of Drexel and SARI.

Dr. JIANG Mianheng delivered a speech and remarked that the collaboration between SARI and Drexel has a clear objective and road map featured with lots of practical substances to be accomplished. The Drexel-SARI partnership forges the conditions that will result in solutions to today's global challenges, he said.

John A. Fry mentioned in his speech that Drexel is proud to launch this collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and by working together the two institutions can expand opportunities for groundbreaking research, outstanding education and the translation of new technologies to commercial applications.
