CEODE Boosted S&T Ties with USGS

GUO Huadong,  director-general of Center for Earth Observation and Digital Earth Chinese Academy of Sciences
(CEODE) and Marcia McNutt, director of United States Geological Survey (USGS) signed a protocol on November 3 in Beijing to pursue scientific and technical cooperation in the Earth observation system and related data activities.

Forms of cooperation under this Protocol consist of exchanges of technical information, visits, and cooperative research consistent with the ongoing programs of the Parties. Specific areas of cooperation include such areas of mutual interest as: Earth-science investigations including hazards, resources, and the environment, Global change and land cover research, Geospatial data applications, etc.

This agreement marked a milestone in the scientific and technological cooperation between CEODE and USGS.

Other delegates included ESTH officers of the U.S. Embassy in China, e.g. Sherry Hong, Austin Turner, etc.
